Congratulations on successfully completing your online Concealed Carry Permit course.
This is the first step in obtaining your concealed carry permit in Tennessee. To complete the application process, you have just a few more steps. These steps must be completed within twelve months of completing the class or you will have to repeat the entire Concealed Carry Permit course.
To Complete Your Concealed Carry Permit Application:
- Complete the online application
- Apply in person at the Driver Services Station
- Pay the $65 application fee
- Provide proof of identity and residency
- Provide proof of SSN
- Submit completed CCP Proof of Training Form along with training proof
- Have your photograph taken
- Provide fingerprints
Complete The Online Application:
Following the successful completion of the online Concealed Carry Permit course, you will need to fill out an online application for your concealed carry permit. The application is found under the Handgun Permits tab. You will need your TN Drivers License (or ID Number) and social security number to access the form. The application takes approximately five to ten minutes.
Apply in Person at the DMV:
Once you have completed the online application, go to your local Driver Services Center. At the Driver Services Center, you will need to present a photo ID. If you do not currently have a Tennessee Drivers License, you must submit two proofs of Tennessee residency with your name and resident address. It is important to know that P.O. Boxes are not accepted. Documents must be current and within the last four months.
Before you can obtain your concealed carry permit, you must pay the $65 non-refundable application fee. You can pay the permit fee with cash, money order or a certified check.
