Public & Private Business Restrictions

Individuals and businesses may also restrict carrying firearms to only allow concealed carry (no open carry) on their property by posting appropriate notice(s) in prominent locations.

Signs allowing concealed carry only must say “CONCEALED FIREARMS BY PERMIT ONLY” and include the phrase “As authorized by TCA §§ 39-17-1351 and 39-17-1359” as well as the traditional circle slash with the gun

Carrying in violation of this restriction is a Class B Misdemeanor.
